I have had Zoom teeth whitenings at previous dental offices but Dental Specialists of NY Midtown office was the best. I liked that the actual main dentist, in this case Dr. Sanchez himself, was involved. He is extremely professional, gentle and considerate in literally ALL that he does. While he had help, Dr. Sanchez set the procedure up and oversaw the process. This made me more confident that everything would be done correctly which it was - my teeth look amazing.

She was able to continue my existing treatment plan and take over from my previous (overseas) orthodontist, and also made improvements leading to an enhanced bite. She did it again, so unprofessional.

She saw me for an underbite correction and provided me with a second opinion after another orthodontist told me I'd need a minor surgery for my correction. I then had the best virtual braces assessment and was given a thorough explanation on what work was needed for my son. Had a confusing misunderstanding. I brought my daughter in for a FREE consultation. They took pictures at their office then conducted a virtual consultation. Everyone was very polite and the process went smoothly. They followed up and I let them know we had decided to go with another orthodontist based on price. Then I got a letter from my insurance - they had tried to submit two claims for $450 and $1,000 and had filed the claims as if we had decided to use their service. Update: Sunset called me to say they had just submitted paperwork to the insurance company to confirm how much the insurance company would potentially paid. Not sure who made the error.

I couldn’t be happier with my experience and results. So will YOU! I had previously consulted with two specialist and though both were highly skilled and recommended I wasn’t quite sure if either was the best fit for me. Dental Specialist was my final consult before making a decision. First impression. The staff was welcoming and wait time was about 5 minutes. Consultation lasted about 45 minutes (other two consults lasted 15-20 minutes). I felt an immediate connection to Dr. Barillas. She was warm, friendly and most importantly thorough in her analysis and in explaining the pros and cons of each treatment options. My other two consults made it seem like lingual braces was the only option to treat my open bite. Dr. Barillas however was certain I could get the same results for 1/2 the price and discomfort with Invisalign. Her examination to determine if braces was even worth the investment was definitely the deciding factor for me. I knew then that I wasn’t just a source of income and that I’d be given the best care and attention. I was right! I have tried few different dentists in NY, but Dr.Sanchez is the only one who even spoke to me beyond 60 secs! He is gentle and clear about what needs to be done. He takes the time to explain and gives you the options. He is Great! And the staff and hygienist are relaxed and efficient. Totally recommend a visit.

My daughter is typically anxious and a lot of her anxiety subsided because they were so thorough in their explanation of the process. I've been a patient at Sunset Orthodontics for almost 3 years. I didn't think I would say this but I enjoy coming to my orthodontics appointments. It has a friendly and welcoming environment. Everyone greets you as soon as you walk in and most importantly they remember your name! Dr. Barillas is great at her specialization. I love how Patricia does her job which is why I always want her to change my bands. Finally, the receptionists do a great job at reminding you about your upcoming appointments.
